The PA Firefly Festival Inc. is a non-profit and as such, we rely on a dedicated team of people to make everything happen. Volunteers for the 2026 PAFF will be selected from a local pool and participate in a training. We look forward to meeting the festival volunteers and guides at an upcoming training to be announced. Become a Private Firefly Guide and Tour Provider: The public demand and interest in fireflies is a growing tourism opportunity in Pennsylvania. Professional Guides or Outfitters who may be interested in learning more about how to incorporate private firefly tours into their business can join us for the Firefly Naturalist & Guide training course on Saturday, June 20, 2026. PA Firefly Festival, Inc. will train and provide materials to prospective firefly guides on how to guide tourists safely and responsibly to known firefly habitat sites in western Pennsylvania. You will learn how to identify and protect the fireflies and their habitats for future tourists. Trained Guides will be eligible to guide on Friday, June 26 and Saturday June 27 for the 14th Annual PA Firefly Festival. Additionally, PAFF will endorse trained guides on our website to refer firefly tourists for direct booking with the trained guide. Contact Peggy Butler at pafireflyfestival@gmail.com if you are interested in becoming a Private Firefly Tour Guide.
